Emergency Assistance to Niger in Response to Flood Disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to flood disaster upon a request from the Government of the Republic of Niger.

1. Disaster situation
The Floods, has been causing serious human and property damage in the country. According to the Government of the Republic of Niger, the damage situation as of September 14 was as follows:
Deaths 58 people
Affected 430,000 people(52,000 families)
Damaged houses 40,000

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Dubai)
Tents
Blankets
Plastic sheets
Water purifiers
Polyester Tank

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Dubai to Niamey on the next available flight.
