Emergency Assistance to Nicaragua in Response to the Hurricane Disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the damages caused by hurricane Eta upon the request from the Government of Nicaragua.

1. Disaster situation
Hurricane Eta, which landed around on 3rd November, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to Nicaragua Government, the damage situation as of 4th Nov was as follows:
Deaths 2 people
Evacuees 30,000people

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Miami)
Tents
Blankets
Plastic sheets
Sleeping pads
Polyethylene tanks
Water purifiers

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Miami to Managua on the next available flight.
