Emergency Assistance to Honduras in Response to the Hurricane Disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the damage caused by Hurricane Eta upon the request from the Government of Honduras.

1. Disaster situation
Hurricane Eta, which reached around on 4th November, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to Honduras Government, the damage situation as of 6th November was as follows:
Deaths 10 people
Victims 1.64 million people
Evacuees 10,000 people

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Miami)
Tents
Blankets
Plastic sheets
Sleeping pads
Polyethylene tanks
Water purifiers

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Miami to Tegucigalpa on the next available charter flight.
