Emergency Assistance to Guatemala in Response to Hurricane Disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the Hurricane Disaster, upon the request from the Government of Guatemala.

1. Disaster situation
Hurricane Disaster, which occurred on November 5,has caused serious human and property damage. According to the Government of Guatemala, the damage situation as of November 10 was as follows:
Deaths 44 people
Affected 370,000 people
Evacuees 90,000 people

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Miami)
Blankets
Sleeping pads

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Miami to Guatemala on the next available flight.
