Emergency Assistance to Colombia in Response to Hurricane

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the Hurricane disaster, upon the request from the Government of Colombia.

1. Disaster situation
Hurricane IOTA, which passed close to the San Andreas and Providencia Islands on 16th and 17th November, has caused serious human and property damage. According to Colombian Government, the damage situation as of 23rd November was as follows:
Deaths 3 people
Evacuees 400 people
Affected 60 thousand people

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Miami)
Tents
Blankets
Sleeping pads
Portable jerry cans

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Miami to Bogota on the next available flight.
