Signing of Grant Agreement with Cambodia: Contributing to the improvement of the residents` quality of life through a stable water supply by expansion of the water supply system

On Dec. 20, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Royal Government of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, to provide grant aid of up to 2.405 billion yen forthe Project for Expansion of Water Supply System in Pursat.

The project contributes to improving the residents’ quality of life through stabilizing the water supply service, and to improving access to safe water by the expansion of the water supply system in Pursat city. This project will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goal 6.

In addition to this project, JICA has implemented “The Project on Capacity Building for the Urban Water Supply System in Cambodia (Phase 3)” (2012-2017) and “The Project for Strengthening Administrative Capacity of Urban Water Supply in Cambodia” (2018-2022). JICA will continue providing comprehensive support for improving the water environment in Cambodia.
