Signing of Grant Agreement with Pakistan:Contributing to improvement of the livelihood of residents through ensuring access to clean and safe water

On March 19, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Islamabad, to provide grant aid of up to 4.094 billion yen forthe Project for the Improvement of Water Treatment Plant and Water Distribution System in Faisalabad.

In this project, the water supply system will be upgraded through renewal of the Old Jhal Khanuana Water Treatment Plant and rehabilitation of the water transmission and distribution facilities for the water supply service area, thereby ensuring access to clean and safe water for residents in Faisalabad City. This project will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goal 6.
