Signing ceremony
On October 13, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Republic of Ghana inAccra, to provide grant aid of up to 3.656 billion yen for the Project for Improvement of the Tema Motorway Roundabout (Phase 2).
The project will construct a north-south flyover at Tema Motorway Roundabout, contributing to easing the traffic congestion and securing smooth and safe road traffic. It is expected that it will improve the local infrastructure and promote economic growth in this area. This project will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goal 9.
In 2020, JICA constructed the east-west underpass at Tema Motorway Roundabout with the Programme for Improvement of Ghanaian International Corridors through grant aid. JICA is comprehensively supporting improvements to the major arterial road in this area.
