Twelve Projects Selected for SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development)

2022.05.19

JICA has decided on the following 12 projects to be newly selected for SATREPS program in FY 2022. It is based on the selection results by committees of external experts conducted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development) is a science and technology diplomacy initiative that promotes joint research between Japan and developing countries using advanced Japanese science and technology. The program is a collaboration among JICA, JST and AMED.
SATREPS aims at acquiring new knowledge that may help address global issues, such as the environment/energy issue, bioresources, disaster prevention and mitigation, and infectious diseases control. The program promotes the future use of this acquired knowledge in society, and the capacity building of researchers and research institutes in developing countries based on the social needs in said countries.
