Workshop Held to Improve the Operations of Hospitals using Kaizen

The Project Cycle Management (PCM) method is a tool used for project planning, management, implementation and evaluation. One of the characters of this method is the participatory approach. JICA held a PCM workshop to consider how to improve the quality of health facilities through 5S-KAIZEN-TQM. Representatives from the Kaizen Excellence Center (KEC), Alert Hospital, St.Peter’s Hospital and Yekatit 12 Hospital participated in this session. A participants commented, “Many projects are top-down to hospitals and this causes us to miss the objectives and priorities. It is very good opportunity for hospitals to be involved from the project formulation phase.”
