MoE and JICA Conduct National Experience Sharing Workshop for New Math Textbooks

A national experience-sharing workshop by the MUST project, a technical cooperation project to improve mathematics textbooks, was held in last week.

Participants attended the workshop from all 13 regional education bureaus. In each session, participants actively participated in the activities and engaged in discussions. A mathematics expert from the Ministry of Education moderated all sessions. A teacher from a pilot school in Addis Ababa demonstrated a model lesson using the new textbooks.

A mathematics expert from Addis Ababa facilitated a session on creating a board writing plan and a session on mathematics subject meetings, where he gave tips on lessons using the new textbooks. At the end of the workshop, each region developed a quarterly activity plan to prepare for the introduction of the new textbooks in the upcoming school year.
