#NINJA Capacity Building Training In Bishoftu

The highly successful NINJA startup capacity building training took place in Bishoftu from September 20 - 23, organized by JICA and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MInT).

This program aimed to equip Ethiopian startup supporters, including accelerators, incubators, and university incubation centers, with the essential knowledge and skills needed to foster startup development. The training fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas, opinions, and experiences among trainers and trainees from various countries, facilitating valuable networking opportunities.

Mr. Selamyehun, the esteemed CEO and Innovation Development Lead, highlighted the prevailing knowledge gap within the startup ecosystem. He emphasized the imperative to address this gap and fortify the startup ecosystem by leveraging international training and experience.

The training boasted an impressive attendance of 40 participants, representing a diverse range of private and governmental institutions. Notable attendees included the Addis Ababa City Administration, Ministry of Education, Ehiotelecom, accelerators, incubation centers, universities, and NGOs. The sessions were expertly conducted by renowned startup ecosystem specialists, including Florian Sora from EBN, Ms. Amel Saidance from Betacube, Mr. Ossama Messaoiud from Datavora in Tunisia, Kohei Muto and Mr. Yannick Gayama from Double Feather Partners in Japan, Masayuki Tadokoro and Yu Kuniyasu from Unicorn Farm in Japan, Mr. Walied Albesheer from Intuitio Ventures, and Mr. Craig Mullett from Brainson Group in the USA.

JICA will continue to work with the Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MInT) to implement a variety of projects to help develop Ethiopia's startups and ecosystem.
