JICA Continues Deployment of Japanese Volunteers to PNG
2026.06.04
JICA PNG Office is again extremely pleased to continue the on-going dispatch of its Japanese volunteers to PNG. On 04 June 2026, four new volunteers have being dispatched to Goroka and Alotau respectively. In Goroka, Mr Koyama an ICT specialist, will contribute in his capacity to the development of a database and the electronic cataloguing of museum artifacts.
Then as for the 3 volunteers in Alotau, Mr Kanzaki is an Occupational Therapist and is assigned to the rehabilitation wing of the Provincial Hospital. Mr Yamagishi is a Mathematics teacher at the Cameron Secondary School and Mr Nishigaki who brings an extensive experience in tourism will join the team at the Milne Bay Tourism Bureau. Each volunteer has an assignment term of 2 years in PNG and JICA is confident that this experience will be enriching for both the host communities and the volunteers themselves.
We wish all volunteers success in their assignments and extend our sincere appreciation to the PNG partner agencies for their continued support and care of JICA volunteers over the years.
