Five new JICA Volunteers have arrived in PNG and are ready to begin an exciting journey of service, learning, and cultural exchange. Following a three-week in-country training program, they will be deployed to their respective host organizations and communities, where they will serve for the next two years.

The new volunteers will work in the following fields and locations:
• Primary School Education at the Division of Education, Milne Bay Province
• Community Development at the Community Development Division Milne Bay Province
• Japanese Language Education at Sogeri National High School
• Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Goroka Secondary School
• Primary School Education at Kokopo Primary School

Throughout their assignments, the volunteers will contribute their professional knowledge and experience while working alongside local counterparts, teachers, students, and community members.

Beyond sharing their own expertise, the volunteers will also have much to learn from the people of Papua New Guinea. The knowledge, resilience, creativity, and community spirit found in PNG's diverse communities offer valuable lessons and inspiration. Through living and working together, the volunteers and local communities will engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas, experiences, and cultures.

At the heart of the JICA Volunteer Program is the spirit of mutual understanding. Through daily interactions, shared experiences, and collaborative activities, the volunteers and their host communities will learn from one another, fostering friendship, trust, and deeper cross-cultural understanding.

We warmly welcome the new JICA Volunteers to PNG and wish them every success in their activities. May their two years in Papua New Guinea be filled with meaningful achievements, lasting friendships, and unforgettable learning experiences for everyone involved.
