JICA Training Participants Present Report and Progress of Action Plan

On Monday 24th March 2024, JICA PNG Office successfully held a seminar for the Short-Term Training participants to present their report and progress of their Action Plans. This seminar was realized with the combined efforts of the JICA Training participants, counterpart government organizations and JICA PNG Alumni Association.
The event was conducted to hear the Action Plans and training reports of the participants and see their visions to make improvements towards PNG's development through policy making; institutional setting; technology improvement; and raising awareness, with the knowledge gained from their unique training experiences in Japan.

The Guest Speaker at the seminar was Mr. Kinsella Geoffrey (Director, National Training Council). Seven insightful presentations followed ensue presenting on the sectoral areas of evaluation; social security; economic policy; agricultural and rural development; and transportation. The event also had positive speeches from Mr. Neil Papenfus (PNG Ports CEO), and closing remarks from Mr. Dan Lyanda (Assistant Secretary, Dept. of National Planning & Monitoring) and Mr. Gibson Holemba (Secretary, Dept. of Works and Highways).

Since JICA PNG started it's training programs, the office has accepted nearly 5,000 PNG Government Officials who were trained in various sectors in Japan. JICA is honored to provide specialized training to support enhance the capacity of the Public Servants, thus contributing to the sustainable development of PNG.
