Pioneer recipient of the 2025 JICA Road Asset Management Scholarship Program

Philemon Sauan, a Civil Engineer with the Department of Works and Highways is the pioneer recipient of a new JICA Scholarship Program

The Road Asset Management Scholarship Program aims to build the capacity of engineers engaged in the infrastructure sector This scholarship will provide the candidate with the opportunity to learn about how Japan developed its road networks, support the scholars through the building of professional networking through seminars and possible internships.

Philemon has departed PNG for Japan in late March 2025 to undertake his Masters at the Osaka University in Japan.
We wish him the best and look forward to sending more engineers to study in Japan.
