Awarded this year's Kaizen Award in the service category, Felege Hiwot Hospital in Bahir Dar has used kaizen to improve health care service. World Vision Japan has been providing support to this hospital through Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO projects supported by the Japanese Government.

On May 16, JICA members, along with representatives from Alert Hospital, St.Peter‘s Hospital and Yekatit 12 Hospital visited Felege Hiwot to see their KAIZEN practices. JICA has been working with the Ministry of Health and the Kaizen Excellence Center (KEC) to improve the quality of health services through 5S-KAIZEN^[1].

The visiting team was highly impressed by the KAIZEN implementation at Felege Hiwot and they stated that they are ready to accelerate 5S applications at their respective hospitals.
