Junior Ranger's excursion

On November 12, as part of the Junior Ranger Program supported by the project, 15 junior rangers visited Orikum Lagoon in Vlore, in the south of the country, to participate in a bird ringing survey conducted by the Albanian Ornithological Society (AOS).

Albania entered bird migratory season, and Orikum is a particular site for migratory birds especially Passeriformes, which includes more than half of all bird species, and its course includes the project site, Diviake-Karavasta National Park. Under the guidance of AOS staff, the junior rangers participated to mark and release migratory birds, bird watching in Orikum and Narta protected areas.

The project will continue to follow-up the bird-ringing survey with AOS as part of its biodiversity monitoring.
