Village Cleaning Activities.

The project site, Diviake-Karavasta, is a national park that includes residential area, farm land, and tourist destination, and there are fourteen villages within the park. On November 19th and 24th, the project formulated school awareness program as one of environment education activity, cleaning action was taken place under the program. Park staff teamed up with schools in Kamenica and Germenj villages to conduct cleaning in the villages and give lectures on waste issues.

Although the local government is preparing a waste collection and incineration system in the area, self-incineration and landfill disposal are still common, especially in the village areas. The project will continue to involve in this issue in order for local students will become aware the waste problem and, the waste problem will be recognized as an issue for the whole society in this are through their activities.
