The fourth workshop of the working group for supervision and coaching (S&C) was held on the 2nd of March 2012 at Peninsula Hotel, Suva. Working group consists of the National IST Nursing coordinator, National Training Manager, Divisional Health Sisters and Divisional IST coordinators from each division, and JICA advisors assigned to the project. In addition to the members, representatives of Sub-divisional Health Sisters and Health sisters from each division were invited in the meeting. In the meeting, roles and functions as well as competencies of mid-level nursing managers are discussed through group discussions. Based on the results of the discussion, generic position descriptions (PD) of Sub-divisional health sisters (SDHS) and health sisters (HS) will be reviewed by the project and proposed to the MOH. The results will also be used to structure “The nursing management manual" that will be developed by the project this year.
