On the 27th of March 2012, a stakeholders' consultation workshop concerning the PGDNM was held in Suva. The objectives of the workshop are: (1) to introduce the Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Management (PGDNM), and (2) to receive inputs from stakeholders

The Ministry of Health Nursing Division together with JICA and the College of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences (CMNHS), Fiji National University (FNU) jointly worked on a project to develop Nursing Management courses. The joint partnership has resulted in the successful development of the "Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Management Program" to be offered at the School of Nursing, CMNHS, FNU starting from 2013.

This program targets the middle level nursing managers and will assist towards the preparation and training of selected participants earmarked for the Ministry's succession plan as managers in their respective nursing fields.

Participants had a fruitful discussion on the course contents, suitability of the criteria of the students, number of student, number of course, and term (one year).
