Inviting all the relevant government officials and stakeholders including personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and health centers in the Central-Eastern Division, the Global Fund organized a two-week study visit to observe the current condition of health centers in Lakemba and Lomaloma Division starting 15 April 2012. Making use of the opportunity, the project sent DHSs and divisional IST coordinators to conduct post-training supervisory visits in these two divisions. The Eastern Division faces significant geographical difficulties in addition to the lack of financial resources. Nursing supervisors have no adequate transports or budget to hire a boat to conduct S&C. As a consequence, they have not been able to provide S&C activities on a regular basis. As nursing supervisors as well as community health nurses in the Eastern Division understand the importance of these activities, they are highly enthusiastic on the future implementations of S&C.
