Department of Culture (DOC), Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs has begun to release video materials containing SATREPS activities on YouTube. This is to create and distribute video materials of the activities carried out in the SATREPS project under the title of "SATREPS Series". This is initiated as a part of a dissemination program. DOC is preparing video materials for each test conducted so far, such as shaking table test, full-scale test, and pull-down test. The language is in Bhutanese and English subtitles are shown at key points.
The video will be uploaded to YouTube and shared on Facebook and other social media platforms.
One short video has already been released to let everyone know what SATREPS is, and it can be watched from the YouTube link below.

On 16th August 2021, the Department of Culture (DOC), Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs conducted microtremor measurement on specimens for shaking table. Since the Japanese expert team cannot come to Bhutan, counterparts (DOC) self-learned how to operate microtremor equipment. Collected data is sent to Japanese team to confirm whether the observation is done properly or not. Furthermore, a session on microtremor measurement will be conducted in the first week of September to pass down the know-how on the operation of the equipment.
Microtremor data collection is scheduled in pilot site (Ura, Bumthang) to know building behaviour at selected buildings (stone masonry buildings), which is critical data for creation of risk map. In advance DOC's self-learning/self-operation of the equipment is important to carry forward upcoming microtremor measurement without site instruction by Japanese researchers. Department of Engineering Service (DES) will lead the coming pilot site survey with support from DOC.
