From September 4 to 6, MOJ organized a 3 days seminar on the Code of Civil Procedure (CCP) in Phnom Penh with the support from JICA project. The seminar started by the opening remarks of His Excellency Ang Vong Vathana. Professor Toshio Uehara and Professor Tatsuo Ikeda, members of Japanese Working Group which has long supported drafting of the CCP, explained the important points on the procedure in the first instance court and the procedure of compulsory execution. For all three days, the conference hall was filled with around 200 participants, including not only legal professionals such as judges, lawyers and university lecturers, but also the participants from local enterprises and financial institutions. The professors received many questions in the Q&A sessions, and some participants showed the enthusiasm by asking questions even during the coffee breaks.
