Project News

The project's four counterpart organizations held a two day Joint Working Group meeting in January 2014. The topics that were selected for this seminar by the different organizations were those that had previously been discussed by each of the working groups. Additionally the members of the group who had attended the training course in Japan in October 2013 shared the knowledge that they had gained at this seminar.

The following topics had been selected by each of the working groups:

Ministry of Justice of Cambodia: "Case study: Immovable lease, perpetual lease, and change of party"

Royal Academy for the Judicial Profession: "The existence of a third party in the procedure of preservative relief."

Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia: "Immovable ownership registration upon succession."

Royal University of Law and Economics: "The ownership over movable acquisition."

The Joint Working Group meeting provided the various organizations with the opportunity of having frank and open discussions and it was noted that the participants were proactively involved in the meeting. The JICA project therefore plans to support the organization of regular Joint Working Group meetings.
