The 1st Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting of JICA's technical cooperation, "Project for Modernization of Vehicle Registration and Inspection Administration System (MVRI Project)" was held and chaired by H.E. Tauch Chankosal, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) on Friday, December 23rd, 2016 at MPWT.

Officers of MPWT, representatives of relevant ministries and Senior Representative of JICA Cambodia Office, Chief Advisor of the Project, and JICA experts attended the meeting, which featured the following presentations:

• Opening Remarks (H. E. Tauch Chankosal, Secretary of MPWT and Mr. Tanaka Kotaro, Senior Representative of JICA Cambodia Office)
• Background of the project (Mr. Chea Scheat, Director of Department of Land Transport, MPWT)
• Explanation of the subjects (JICA Chief Advisor and JICA short-term expert (Chief Manager))
  • Project Plan
  • Project Design Matrix (PDM)
  • IT Short Term Strategy
• Interim report of the project (JICA short-term experts (Vehicle Registration, Vehicle Inspection, and IT System))
• Work Schedule (JICA short-term expert (Chief Manager))
• Discussion and Q & A Session
• Closing Remarks (H. E. Tauch Chankosal, Secretary of MPWT)

The purpose of the 1st JCC meeting was to share and discuss the project plan, modification of the Project Design Matrix (PDM), interim report of the Project, etc. Through the fruitful discussions, work plan, PDM, and one of the IT short term strategies were agreed among the JCC members. The JICA expert team and the counterpart members of the Cambodian Government will be closely working together based on today's discussions and agreed plan during the project period.
