The inaugural MVRI project training was conducted February 13-17, 2017 in Tokyo, in which ten people from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), Ministry of Economic and Finance, Ministry of the Interior participated. The purpose of the training in Japan was to introduce the system of vehicle registration and inspection in Japan and exchange ideas about the future plan of issues regarding vehicle registration and inspection in Cambodia. The training was conducted as shown in the following table:

The participants deepened their understanding of the system of vehicle registration and inspection in Japan through the training and recognized what should be improved in Cambodia. It is expected that the participants will spearhead efforts to lead the implementation of the project activities using knowledge acquired in Japan.
