On 7th June, the Seminar on Improvement of Vehicle Registration and Inspection System of JICA's technical cooperation project, "Project for Modernization of Vehicle Registration and Inspection Administration System (MVRI Project)" was held in Phnom Penh hotel, represented by H.E. Chhoun Voun, Director General of General Department of Land Transport, Ministry of Public Works and Transport. The objective of this seminar was to share the online system of vehicle registration and inspection in Cambodia and to introduce vehicle registration and inspection system in Japan. Around 100 people of dealers of the whole country, staff of GDLT, JICA experts, project assistant and the other related people attended this seminar.

There were the presentations as follows;

• Overview of JICA/MVRI project by Mr. Ota Masaya, Chief Advisor of JICA/MVRI project
• Introduction of MPWT improvement activities by Ms. Men Chansokol, Director of Department of Land Transport
• Introduction of MPWT automation system by staff of MPWT
• Introduction of vehicle inspection and repair business system in Japan by Mr. Nakatani Ikuo, Director, Maintenance Service Division, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT)
• Introduction of vehicle type approval system in Japan by Mr. Korenori Takeshi, Chief Representative, JASIC Jakarta
• Introduction of vehicle inspection registration IT system in Japan by Tokiwa Yoshifumi, Senior Manager, NTT data
