Handover the patrol equipment to the Pilot Community Forestry of the Project

On 6th July 2022, the Stung Treng Provincial Forestry Administration Cantonment (FAC), one of the provincial counterpart agencies of the project, represented by Mr. REY Raksmey, Deputy Chief of the FAC, held a handover ceremony of patrol equipment to the Phnom Ta Kong (PTK) Community Forestry (CF) Management Committee with the presence of the Chief Advisor of the project, Mr. GOSEKI Kazuhiro, as the witness.

In 2021, under the subnational implementation component targeting Stung Treng province, PTK CF has been selected as the pilot CF for the purpose of establishing a good example of CF management in Cambodia, and the plan of pilot activities has been formulated through a series of discussions between the project and the PTK CF members. In the plan of activities, provision of necessary equipment for the CF patrol teams has also been listed being given a high priority due to the importance of patrolling for the proper management of the CF.

In the ceremony, a wide range of patrol equipment, such as digital camera, smartphones, tents, hammocks, raincoats, flashlights, water bottles, boots and backpacks which were procured by the project to ensure effective and efficient performance of the patrol teams, have been handed over from the project to the PTK CF Management Committee. To ensure the proper use and maintenance of the equipment by the PTK CF members, a commitment agreement was made and signed between the FAC and the PTK CF Management Committee.
