In order to create the Siem Reap Smart City Roadmap, a survey was started in March 2020, and a draft version was formulated in December 2021. It is scheduled to be finalized at the next Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) on March 2, 2023.

After the draft version was formulated, many meetings/discussions for finalizing the roadmap were held between various stakeholders such as the Project team departments in charge, citizens, academic institution and many public.
