Online cultural exchange connecting elementary schools in Cambodia and Japan

As part of the e-learning program, Banti Aichas Elementary School, where JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (elementary school education) are dispatched, and Kagaya Higashi Elementary School in Osaka (equivalent to fourth grade students) were connected online and cultural exchanges were held.

Beginning with greetings from the principals of both schools, the school introduction, singing and ensemble performances, etc. were performed, and the students of both schools were very excited to interact with foreign students.

This cultural exchange utilizes a projector with built-in batteries and speakers that was lent by Epson. Since such cultural exchanges are possible even in non-electrified areas as long as they are within mobile phone coverage, we would like to solicit ideas from JICA Volunteers and the Project counterparts dispatched to Siem Reap to expand the scope of such activities.
