The Training Program for Young Leaders

The Training Program for Young Leaders for administrative and judicial institutions was held in Japan from 14th November to 1st December 2010. During the period, 19 officials comprised of the judges, attorneys and officials of Ministry of Justice participated in these training program. Among the 19 officials, 4 officials were the members of drafting groups.

The Training Program for Young Leaders is a series of training seminars for future leaders in Cambodia to improve their legislative, administrative, or judicial knowledge and skills.

In this time, the Training Program for Young Leaders for Cambodia was especially focused on the legal and judicial development. Participants took part in lectures on the circumstance and issues of the Japanese judicial development project, the Japanese legislative system, the Japanese judicial system, and the drafting history of the Civil Code and the Code of Civil Procedure of Cambodia. They also visited the Tokyo district court and listened to the oral proceedings.

After returning to Cambodia, the officials who are members of the drafting groups play an important role in the drafting group, taking advantage of the knowledge obtained through these lectures.
