Technical seminar for planning and basic design of the Case Study was held on November 23, 2010. Director of DRBFC chaired the seminar and the attendance were Director and staff of DRD, Director and staff of DRBFC and IGE.

The Case Study will be carried out for improvement works at the site of A01, 6.7 km, Fatuahi area, where was severely damaged by slope collapse due to land sliding in 2009. Basic plan and design for the improvement works has been completed by DRBFC staff in cooperation with CDRW Expert. Improvement works at the site will be implemented after the year of 2011, 2nd Field Work of CDRW.

After presentation by the Expert of CDRW, the future required activities for the Case Study were discussed between attendances of the seminar.

The site seminar was carried out on December 14 and 15, 2010 participating Director of DRBFC, Section Chief of Bridge Design, and other staffs of DRBFC at the site of Mola Bridge Construction Works, which are now under-executing by Japanese Grant Aid. The seminar was carried out in cooperation with the Contractor and the Consultant at the construction site.

During the site seminar, construction management system, progress control and quality control for construction works were explained in addition to the site inspection at actual construction site.

Participants on the site seminar have learned adequately the construction management system at the actual construction site on Mola Bridge Construction Works.

No.2 Technical Transfer Seminar (TTS-2) on CDRW, which was invited by Secretary of State for Public Works, MOI was held on December 21, 2010 attending Secretary of State for Public Works; Director General of Transport, Equipment and Communications; Acting Director General of Public Works; Director of DRBFC; Director of IGE; Directors of Regional Offices of DRBFC; and many staff of DRBFC and IGE.

The Seminar was started on Opening Speech by Secretary of State for Public Works and continued the presentations by following personnel and questions and answers.

The Seminar was closed by Closing Speech of Acting Director General, Public Works, with understanding of all attendances that the proper management for the road maintenance and equipment management database by the staff of Timorese themselves is one of the most important matters to execute the sustainable and proper road management in Timor-Leste.
