On the 9th of March 2023, the 1st JCC/PSC meeting took place at the conference room of Timor Plaza in Dili.

Around 60 participants attended this meeting including Mr. Pedro dos Reis, the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries who was appointed as the Chairperson of JCC/PSC, Dr. Mimpei Ito, Chief Representative of JICA Timor-Leste Office who was appointed as the Co-Chairperson and Mr. Demetrio do Amaral de Carvalho, Secretary of State for the Environment who was appointed as Vice-Chairperson. Three officials from JICA Headquarters also attended this meeting.

In the JCC/PSC, the JICA Expert Team presented the project outline and proposed the work plan and annual activity plan after opening remarks from the Chair and Co-Chair. Since the annual activity plan was accepted unanimously by JCC/PSC, the JICA Expert Team will start full-scale field activities from now on.

GMN TV, Timor-Leste's main local media, reported extensively on the committee meeting, demonstrating the high level of interest in the project.
