On June 12th 2008, the Handover Ceremony took place at The Engineering Faculty of UNTL. The teaching staff and many students attended the ceremony. To fulfill the ceremony, the Faculty of Engineering invited Dr. Benjamim de Araujo e Corte=Real, the Rector of UNTL, Mr. Maguel Maia, Vice Rector of UNTL, Ms. Yasuko Hayashi, Secretary of the Japanese Embassy and Mr. Tetsuya Kamijo, Resident Representative of JICA Timor Leste to make the ceremony complete with progress and success.

ISo far, JICA had provided laboratory equipment in April 2007 (US$102,000), August 2007 (US$280,000). For this time, JICA provides laboratory equipment for two Departments (Mechanical Engineering Department and Civil Engineering Department) by responding the necessity of the practical activities at Hera Campus with the total amount of approximately US$50,000. The equipment includes digital theodolite, auto level, and hand-operated lift.
