Class evaluation by students

The project conducted class evaluation in cooperation with the Faculty of Engineering in July 2008. At the end of the semester, questionnaires were distributed to the students in each subject and surveyed their degree of satisfaction. It was not easy to persuade all the teachings staff to conduct the survey, because they are reluctant to disclose the result to the others. The project had a close discussion with the Faculty and gradually gained understanding. The collection rate was approximately 60%, and it should be increased next time. The survey found that a lot of classes were not carried out according to the timetable, the lecture is too difficult for some students, and the teaching material is not sufficient. To improve the quality of education, the project gave feedback to each teaching staff. The project continues to conduct class evaluation after each semester (once in six months) to enhance student’s satisfaction toward the class.
