As the project is schedule to end at the end of March 2010, JICA sent a monitoring mission to Timor Leste from 24th February to 3rd March 2009. The mission needed to monitor the progress of the project. And it was important to seize future policy of the Faculty of Engineering, and reflect the policy into the project activities. During their stay in Timor Leste, the mission had meetings with the minister of Education, rector of UNTL and the members of Faculty of Engineering.

On March 2nd 2009 approximately 9:00 a.m., the CADETES project organized a meeting (Joint Coordinating Committee) at Hotel Timor. The meeting involved the Authorities of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. In the meeting, we had identified and recognized progress for further achievements. Also, the mission and UNTL signed on Minutes of Meeting based on the series of discussions during the above mentioned period.

By responding the request from the Faculty of Engineering which is going to have 4 years full degree in the future, the project assists research activities at Hera campus in a variety of ways including financial support and technical advice.
