Project News

The project organized final seminar as the project is ending in March 2010. In the seminar, the Faculty of Engineering explained the achievement of the project such as upgraded academic degree of the teaching staff, improved skills and knowledge of engineering subjects, enhanced laboratory materials and so on. Mr. Victor da C. Soares, Dean of the Faculty, mentioned that the Faculty had achieved a number of outcomes in cooperation with the project. Also, he emphasized the importance of continuous support from JICA as a second phase of the project. By responding strong demand from the Government of Timor-Leste, JICA is considering to keep its cooperation for the Faculty of Engineering to develop human resource.

Government officials from the Ministry of Education and Vice Rector of UNTL attended the seminar and they expressed their support for the Faculty of Engineering. Now is a good time for the Faculty of Engineering to consider seriously what the Faculty aims for in the context of Timor-Leste.
