Joint project teams meeting was held on 26th February 2012. SHAPWASCO (Sharkiya Potable Water and Sanitation Company), GHAPWASCO (Gharbia Potable Water and Sanitation Company), MCWW (Minufia Company for Water and Wastewater) and JICA experts attended this meeting as the project team member. Project team formulations, selections of model areas/facilities, procurement of necessary equipment and etc... were confirmed as the results of the works implemented in the first year of the project. The project manager, Dr. Salah Bayoumi, advised the team-members: "We must not finish the project at measurement and monitoring of water supply service. We must link it to repairs and improvement of the facilities and water supply service". All team members braced themselves for the project implementation. After the joint project teams meeting, the steering committee meeting was held to discuss the activities plan of the second year. In the year 2012, the project teams will conduct 1) meters/equipment set-up at model areas/facilities for water flow, pressure, leakage, etc., 2) practices on repairs/improvement of the facilities/services according to the measured data.
