The Project for Strengthening Water Management Transfer (SWMT Project) implemented the second Training of Trainers (TOT) in total of eight days during the period from February 16 to March 29, 2015.
In the second TOT, the SWMT Project had six training topics which were mainly reselected from the first TOT[1] which was implemented in 13 days during the period from February to April, 2014. Since the participants could not understand them well in those technical tests of the first TOT, the contents needed to be reviewed in the second TOT[2].
In preparing for the second TOT, the project members including the Central Department of Irrigation Advisory Service (CDIAS) and the General Directorate of Irrigation Advisory Service (GDIAS) in charge of each pilot site of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI), reviewed those training syllabuses and materials, and discussed why they were not fully understood in the first TOT as well as how they should be taught in the second TOT.
As a result, the second TOT was successfully implemented to meet the training needs of trainees.

Furthermore, in accordance with the period of the second TOT from February 13 to March 10, Dr. Shuichi Matsushima, a Short-term Expert of JICA not only technically supported the project to implement the second TOT, but also actually implemented a training on water extension on March 4 and a workshop on curriculum development of trainings through CUDBAS on March 1 and 2.[3]
From now on, all the project members will make the utmost efforts to establish a training system on TOT by analyzing results of the first and second TOTs as well as to start to prepare for the second Staff Training and the development of Training Manuals which is one of the main project outcomes.
