Second Staff Training was implemented.

The Project for Strengthening Water Management Transfer (SWMT Project) implemented the second Staff Training (ST) in total of six days during the period from May 19 to June 2, 2015. In the second ST, the SWMT Project had six training topics[1] which are mainly from the first ST[2] since several participants could not pass those technical tests and therefore the training contents and methods needed to be reviewed in the second ST. Although several trainees of the second ST were new, all the trainees were actively participating in the whole training. In fact, some trainees who were trainees of the first ST, were participating in the second ST as trainers, while there were also young female trainers who actively participated in the training activities of the project for the first time.

Furthermore, Dr. Shuichi Matsushima, a Short-term Expert of JICA came to Egypt to technically support the SWMT Project in implementing the second ST and developing the training manual in the period from May 23 to June 9, 2015. During the period, Dr. Matsushima was fully attending the second ST, giving his technical advice on the training contents to every trainer as well as to the trainees. In fact, Dr. Matsushima helped the project to smoothly continue and complete some training by intermediating between the trainers and the trainees when there were long discussions among them. In addition to his technical support to the second ST, Dr. Matsushima supported the project not only in implementing the Project Seminar on Participatory Water Management as a facilitator, but also in planning the second WUO training[3] and developing the training manual.

From now on, the project team will analyze results of the second ST, start to prepare for the second WUO training and to develop the training manual, referring to recommendations by Dr. Matsushima.
