From September 26 to 29, JICA-RI Distinguished Fellow and former ASEAN Secretary-General Surin Pitsuwan visited Egypt, visiting the GEM-CC Project as well. First, The General Director of GEM-CC Dr. Tarek Tawfik has made a welcome speech, after which he showed his feeling of gratitude about how the staff of the project's technique has improved and how their awareness heightened. After that, Dr. Surin has visited conservation laboratories inside GEM-CC, receiving explanation about the current situation of GEM-CC and also about Japanese technical support through the project. Dr. Surin has also visited GEM construction site, and also the Solar Boat Project site.
