Disclosure of the Phase 1 Experience, of The Chagas Disease Control Project to the new Phase 2 pilot areas

The vector staff of the health district (SIBASI) of La Libertad, visited SIBASI-Sonsonate, in order to learn from the Phase 1 lessons to incorporate them into their own activities. Sonsonate presented their achievements, challenges and management strategies to control Chagas disease, generating a number of questions from visitors, who received guidance on the entomological survey, triatomine dissection and analysis.

Subsequently, they visited the Health Center of San Antonio del Monte, a pilot area for installation of the surveillance system. The staff of SIBASI-La Libertad, expressed their satisfaction with the knowledge gained during the visit and expressed their desire to eliminate the bugs (chinches) as soon as possible.
