Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting of the EthioRice project was held in Bahir Dar on March 24th, 2017. The meeting was participated by thirty-three members and observers including representatives of Fogera farmers, the Ministry of Finance and Economics Development, Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources, Amhara Regional Agricultural bureau, Amhara Agricultural Research Institute, Canadian and Finish projects, Japanese Embassy and JICA Ethiopia Office. Progress so far and plan for next year were discussed and approved. Progress of the National Rice Research Program and NRRTC construction were also reported at the meeting. The participants visited Fogera in the afternoon where construction activities of the center's buildings and experimental field were progressing. The following day of the JCC meeting, a seminar to discuss the results of research activities was held. The project supports the center to continue conducting scientific discussions among researchers of the center and from other research institutes.
