A workshop on training contents for extension agnets was held at Fogera National Rice Research and Training Center by drawing participants from public extension and mechanization services. Mr Shimokawa together with Mr Zelalem firstly conducted sessions to discuss basic technologies Fogera farmers were currently using. The discussions made researchers' understanding on the present practice deeper so that research activities would be more practical and responding to farmers' issue faster, and the center's training program demand driven. It was followed by demonstrating two row planters and a weeder by Mr Shimokawa, Mr Melese, Mr Mersha and Mr Arai. There were hot and practical exchanges of ideas and comments on the equipment, which were prototypes and expected to be further improved through collaboration among researchers, extension agents, engineers and farmers.
