Rapid yield survey (December 2017)

Mr Arai and Mr Habtamu tried out a Rapid Yield Survey method in farmers' field in Fogera. The method estimates rice yield on spot instead of taking sampled plants back to research center to analyze yield later. All the yield estimation work such as threshing, measuring moisture and calculation in the sampled field, and sampled plants and grains are given back to the farmer. By this way, the estimated yield can be shared with the farmer immediately and minimize loss while the sample is transported to and stored at the center. The validity of this simple method is yet to be proved by some more trials.
