Trial for dry season rice production (January 2018)
It is in the dry season and not cropping season at most part of Ethiopia now. Farmers in the lakeside areas of Lake Tana continue farm without break. After rice growing during the rainy season, considerable area is planted with "Teff". Farmers are busy preparing land and sowing teff seeds. Farmers use pump when the fields are dry. The crop will be ready for harvest after three months. EthioRice is experimenting rice production in the same area during this dry season.
