NRRTC's mechanization researchers, Mr Meles and Mr Mersha have visited CFAMA (Centre de Formation et d'Application du Machinisme Agricole) in Madagascar for training in designing and fabricating rotary weeder. NRRTC is aiming to develop locally manufactured rotary weeders to minimize weeding burdens in rice production in Ethiopia. They went through fabrication of the tool and designing. The training was taught by Dr Haga, Chief of Training at CFAMA. The researchers are accompanied by Mr Arai, EthoRice expert.
