Ethio-SHEP Sensitization and Baseline survey were conducted

Ethio-SHEP has been conducted sensitization workshop and baseline survey for third year's targeted farmer group of new eight sits in both Amhara and Oromia region.

During the Sensitization workshop, the experts, who participated to SHEP approach TOT conducted in June, explain the concept of SHEP, implementation way and activities contents. Also, second year's SHEP target farmers explain how the SHEP activities changed them. One farmer state that his group started to buy seed potato together with his group from the Potato seed production cooperatives who met with past business linkage forum Ethio-SHEP organized. One farmer said that she sell her products of green pepper highest price than ever to the buyer who met at the business linkage forum. Another famers mention that he increased his produce by implementing the technical skills which was taught by the project.

Moreover, gender experts who participated the TOT explain the importance of gender empowerment and husband and wife work together through the SHEP activities using the case studies.

In the baseline survey, participants said that "it was first time for me to calculate income and cost, even I didn't n know that how much profit and how much cost I got. I now knew record keeping is important to realize my income and cost " "in our area, irrigation scheme has just established then I am willing to farm in dry season so we expects SHEP activities a lot."
