"Close collaboration brought tangible changes on farmers livelihood" Ethio-SHEP project held the National Workshop and the 6th JCC meeting

Ethio-SHEP project held the SHEP National Workshop on 23rd December 2022 and shared the project's achievement with wide stakeholders. In addition to the counterparts of federal, regional and zonal level who have conducted activities with the project, other new-face stakeholders, such as development partners and a representative of seed association etc., also participated in the workshop.

During the workshop, the project explained outline of the SHEP approach and the project's achievement of doubling average net income from horticultural production of target smallholder farmers, and the counterparts reported how they started incorporating the SHEP approach in their regular agricultural extension services. Active discussion was held among the participants, as they were interested in learning how the project was able to bring such a remarkable achievement. Counterparts explained that the key to the success was their close collaboration with the project at all levels for the last six years.

Following the National Workshop, the 6th Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meeting was held with core stakeholders, which was the final JCC meeting for the project. During the discussion, the counterparts showed their motivation to continue SHEP scale-up activities as the regular extension activities which could maintain and expand the project's outcomes after the project's termination.
